Climate Change

Climate change is commonly understood as the most pressing environmental problem of present. Climate change policy is a young field of environmental policy both internationally and in the EU. The EU has decided to play an active and forward-looking role in fighting climate change and identified that the future is an integrated energy and climate policy. Both the EU and the Member States are responsible for the implementation of the climate objectives, while legislation is rapidly developing in this field.

J&E wanted to contribute to the fight against climate change with its own means. Therefore J&E produced legal analyses, case studies and position papers on issues relating to climate policy in Members States of the EU. J&E also analyzed the famous UK Climate Change Act, and has monitored the adoption of similar domestic legal instruments throughout the EU. J&E examined the regulation of Carbon Capture and Storage, of energy efficiency, and analyzed the processes within the UNFCCC from the point of view of access rights.

All J&E outputs regarding climate change are available on the Publications page.
