Commission pressured over conservation shortcomings
The EU will fail to halt biodiversity loss unless Brussels steps up its response and proposes concrete policies to plug financing gaps, according to MEPs and the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).
Oral questions by the European Parliament’s environment (ENVI) committee will force the European Commission to appear before the full plenary in October to discuss its action plan to improve implementation of EU directives on birds and habitats.
