Have your say on the next PCIs!
The Commission is working on its third list of energy infrastructure projects the EU needs to complete the internal energy market – and it wants your say on it.
Brussels kicked off a public consultation on the proposed projects of common interest (PCIs), which cover both the electricity and gas sectors. There are dozens of pipelines, interconnections and facility upgrades that made it on the proposed list and those interested have 12 weeks to share their comments. PCIs benefit from a faster regulatory approval process and are also eligible to funding from the EU’s Connecting Europe Facility. The first PCIs were selected in 2013 and the list was updated in 2015. The Commission will draw up a new list by the end of this year.
